Champagne Denis Chaput
Blanc de blancs
Blanc de noirs
Carte d'Or

What is it?

This is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Bottled in May 2011, it consists of 55% wines from the 2010 harvest and 45% reserve wines from the 2008 and 2009 harvests.

What is it like?

Bright, yellow-gold colour with glints of light yellow straw. Fine, light, persistent bubbles. The nose offers aromas of hazelnut, almond, flowers, brioche, spring honey, candied fruit, grapefruit, apple compote, butter, and mocha with light toasted notes. Direct, intense attack, with an enveloping effervescence. This is a complex, full-bodied champagne whose vinous character is underscored by a finely crafted acidity. Velvety and harmonious on the palate, extending into a long, luscious, lively finish.

What food does it go with?

Our suggestions: Capon stuffed with foie gras, cep mushroom sauce; aged cheddar; Blue lobster with lightly cooked vegetables and yuzu vinaigrette.
